Child's play for new dad Rohit Sharma in Australia

The Hitman scored his seventh ton against the Aussies in the first ODI in Sydney.

India may have lost to Australia in the first One Day International at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Saturday but Rohit Sharma, who recently became father to daughter Samaira, continued to showcase the thorn he has been in Australia's side over his career.

Opening the innings for India to chase 288/5 the hosts put up, the ARCS Andheri pick from T20 Mumbai smashed 133 off 129 balls steadying his knock to account for the shaky start as India found themselves at 4/3.

He brought up his 22nd hundred -- and his second successive and the seventh against the Aussies -- in 110 deliveries and then cut loose, endin up with 10 fours and six sixes and a plethora of records against the team from Down Under.

With Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the Hitman forged a 137-run partnership for the fourth wicket but failed to find anyone else at the other end to up the run rate once Dhoni departed. India closed the innings at 254/9, going down by 34 runs.
