T20 Mumbai to get Season 2 on the road with Auction on May 4

The likes of Arjun Tendulkar, Suryakumar Yadav and Shivam Dube are expected to be auctioned this year.

The auction for the second season of the T20 Mumbai league will be held on Saturday, 4th of May at The St. Regis in Mumbai.

Expected to be a day long affair, the auction will see over a hundred players -- curated from the registrations conducted earlier this year -- going under the hammer.

In 2018, 116 players were picked to play in the league by the six teams. This year’s auction will give teams a chance to retain some of the players from the previous year’s squad as well as use the Right to Match (RTM) cards. The total budget for each team for this season’s auction will be ₹35 lakhs; with the players in contention at the auction split into multiple price categories.

After a registration drive, over 1,000 players registered with the Mumbai Cricket Association had expressed their interest in playing in the league.

Names such as last year's Man of the Tournament Shivam Dube, winning captain Suryakumar Yadav, top scorer Shreyas Iyer, Prithvi Shaw, among others have already made their intentions to return for Season 2, while young players like Arjun Tendulkar have also registered for the campaign and have been added to the auction pool.
