Chasing the home side's 158/8, India made a brisk start to their innings with captain Sharma whipping Scott Kuggeleijn over short fine leg in the fourth over taking him to the milestone 100th maximum in T20Is. He became just the third cricketer after Chris Gayle and Martin Guptill to reach the landmark.

His next six came off Ish Sodhi in the eighth over, down fine leg, which took him past the highest T20I runs mark, surpassing Guptill's tally. Incidentally, the leading run scorers in Tests, One Day Internationals and now T20Is are Mumbai cricketers, with Sachin Tendulkar leading the tally in the longer formats.

The ARCS Andheri pick from the inaugural season of T20 Mumbai eventually succumbed for 50 off just 29 balls, aided by three fours and four sixes in the ninth over with India sealing the win by seven wickets and seven balls to spare to level the series,
