Prithvi Shaw helps Mumbai extend winning run

Mumbai won their fourth straight match and remained undefeated in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy on Monday after opener Prithvi Shaw's attacking fifty sealed the Group C game against Goa following a solid opening stand.

Having restricted Goa to 140/4 at the Emerald Heights International School in Indore, Mumbai got off to a great start as 19-year-old Shaw and skipper Ajinkya Rahane piled on the runs. The pair put on 95 for the first wicket before the captain departed for 31 at the start of the 12th over.

Shaw, a North Mumbai Panthers pick from the maiden T20 Mumbai season, managed to score a fine 71 in just 47 balls, reaching the boundary on five occasions and blistering a maximum seven times. Although Mumbai lost four quick wickets -- across just 22 runs -- they went on to win the match by six wickets and 10 balls to spare.
