Key Players

ARCS Andheri decided to retain their leading run scorer from last season, Shubham Ranjane as well as pacer Tushar Deshpande who was their second highest wicket-taker.

“These two were the best performers last season, so we decided to retain them on their merit. Shubham is a genuine all-rounder and Tushar was one of the leading wicket-takers for Mumbai in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy,” team manager Anant Tewari pointed out.

ARCS Andheri also bought back their captain for the inaugural season, Iqbal Abdullah and their leading wicket-taker in 2018, Vineet Sinha. They also got a few fresh faces into their squad by buying the likes of Praful Waghela, Gaurav Jathar and Kevin Almeida.

“This time I am happy with our squad strength and we have a good, complete team. We’ve changed a lot of our support staff and got a few new players,” explained Dr P. V. Shetty, team owner and backbone of the franchise.

“ARCS is nothing but the short form of our development and construction company. Since Andheri was one of the areas following under our constituency, we decided to go ahead with the name ARCS Andheri,” explained Tewari.

The franchise finished bottom of the table last season in T20 Mumbai, but with this rejuvenated squad with an emphasis on young cricketers who have set the local cricketing landscape alight, ARCS Andheri would be confident of turning their fortunes around when Season 2 gets going on 14th May.
