Yashasvi Jaiswal makes a splash as India U-19 claim trophy

The teenager scored four fifties in seven innings in the series and was the second-highest run-getter for his team.

Yashasvi Jaiswal impressed with the bat in the Under-19 Tri-Series in England scoring 294 runs at an average of 42.00 as India U-19s went on to clinch the tournament on Sunday.

Opening the innings, the 17-year-old scored four fifties in his seven innings, including one in the final against Bangladesh U-19s, to make a memorable tour for the teenager.

He was the top-scorer of the match on two occasions, incidentally scoring 78 in both instances and both against England U-19s, which were his highest scores in the tri-series.

In the final on Sunday at Hove, Jaiswal - who has played for North Mumbai Panthers in the T20 Mumbai league - put on a 104-run stand for the opening wicket as India U-19s chased Bangladesh's 261. That laid the foundation for his team's six-wicket victory and the trophy.

Jaiswal was the second-highest run-scorer for India in the tournament after Divyaansh Saxena
