Mumbai prodigy Arjun Tendulkar enlists himself for 2021 IPL auctions

The all-rounder will have a base price of 20 lakhs for the auctions.

The auctions for the 2021 Dream11 Indian Premier League is set to be held on 18th February in Chennai. Over 1000 players have enlisted their names for these auctions, including none other than Mumbai’s very own Arjun Tendulkar.

The 21-year-old all-rounder is said to have a base price of 20 lakhs for the auction, and his name being added to the auction roster has already generated a lot of buzz and excitement amongst fans. Arjun recently represented the Mumbai domestic team in the 2021 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, playing two games in the competition and picking up two wickets.

Prior to that, Arjun has also been a net bowler for the Indian team, and was spotted bowling to some of the very best batsmen at the Wankhede Stadium a few years ago. He was also used as a net bowler during India’s tour of England in 2018.

T20 Mumbai Experience
In 2019, Arjun played his first ever franchise cricket tournament- the T20 Mumbai League. He was the league’s joint most expensive player, being picked by the Aakash Tigers Mumbai Western Suburbs. Arjun played all games for his franchise that season, picking up five wickets at an average of a little over 30.

The southpaw was also shrewdly used as a pinch-hitter by his franchise, promoted up the order to bat at three, and repaid that faith with a few impactful cameos. Arjun, who is the son of T20 Mumbai League mentor Sachin Tendulkar, scored 106 runs in his six games, with an impressive strike rate of over 120 in the competition.

The youngster proved his mettle by performing admirably in the T20 Mumbai League, and now with the IPL auctions around the corner, it will be interesting to see which teams end up in a bidding war to pick him for the competition.
