Fixtures: Season 2 opener pits defending champions against new boys

The league has had a change in format, switching from a round-robin to group stages for the new campaign.

Following the addition of two new teams, T20 Mumbai has adopted a unique format for Season 2, as opposed to a round-robin in the inaugural campaign, wherein the teams will be evenly split into two groups of four and will play a total of five matches during the league stages.

 

Each side will play three of its matches against teams from their own group while the remaining two will be played against teams from the other.

The new season of T20 Mumbai will commence on the 14th of May, with defending champions Triumph Knights Mumbai North East taking on league debutant Aakash Tigers Mumbai Western Suburbs at the Wankhede Stadium.

Later in the evening, Season 1 semi-finalists SoBo SuperSonics will battle ARCS Andheri, while Day 2’s afternoon game will pit new boys Eagle Thane Strikers against North Mumbai Panthers. ARCS Andheri will play the evening game on the Day 2 as well, taking on NaMo Bandra Blasters, who also made it to the Playoffs in Season 1.

A total of 20 league stage matches will be played across 10 action-packed days, followed by which the top two teams from each group will battle in the semi-finals to earn an opportunity to play in T20 Mumbai Season 2 final on the 26th of May.
