Arjun Tendulkar, son of League Ambassador of T20 Mumbai Sachin Tendulkar, has been included in India’s Under-19 squad that will be touring Sri Lanka in July.

It was a proud moment for Sachin Tendulkar and his family as Arjun got his first big ticket to the Indian cricket team and described this moment as an important milestone in his son’s career.

“We are happy about Arjun's selection. It is an important milestone in his cricketing life. Anjali and I will always support Arjun in his choices and pray for his success," said the senior Tendulkar.

The 18-year-old left-arm medium pacer picked up 18 wickets in five matches at the Under-19 Cooch Behar Trophy for Mumbai this season. This performance included two five-wicket hauls against Madhya Pradesh and Railways, which earned him a place in the Indian team.

Back in March, the budding left-arm seamer had made the call to back out of his T20 Mumbai debut on account of working on his bowling action at the time.

Now, Arjun will be seen playing two four-day matches next month which will be led by Delhi wicket-keeper batsman Anuj Rawat, while Aryan Juyal has been handed the responsibility of leading the One Day side.

With Rahul Dravid travelling to England around the same time with the India A team, WV Raman is set to take over coaching duties from the Under-19 World Cup winning coach.
