Tanmay Mishra slams his maiden One Day century

In a match where no other batsman managed a fifty, the 32-year-old led his team to victory.

It took Tanmay Mishra 13 years and 58 matches to score his first hundred in List A cricket.

Batting for Tripura in the Vijay Hazare Trophy Elite Group C match against Madhya Pradesh in Jaipur on Wednesday, the ARCS Andheri batsman from the inaugural season of T20 Mumbai scored 102 runs in 101 balls aided with 10 fours and 2 sixes.

Coming into bat at 66/2, he stood solid and was helped with a 79-run partnership for the fifth wicket with Milind Kumar. Mishra, who has played international cricket for Kenya, eventually perished at the end of the 47th over as Tripura piled 268/8 at the end of 50 overs.

In response, MP managed 86/6 at the end of 26 overs before rain intervened and Tripura were awarded the match by 104 runs by the VJD method.

Harmeet Singh, who once bowled for SoBo Supersonics, picked up 1/14 in his five overs extending his fine run in the Trophy following up from his 3/32 off 10 overs against Jammu & Kashmir on Tuesday.
